Battle of the Jupiter Florida's Online Real Estate Sites

If you are reading this blog right now, it is probably no surprise to you that the majority of home buyers looking in Jupiter Florida begin their search for properties online, and many continue to use online resources throughout the process. The same can be said for sellers who are keeping up with the local market, and doing their homework on the internet to make sure their home is competitively priced. Over the past several years, real estate resources on the internet have increased exponentially. Realtor.com, Trulia, Zillow, and Craigslist are some of the more well-known sites, in addition to real estate agents' and brokerages' more localized websites.

Recently, Trulia has taken a hard hit on the internet. Searches for generic terms (i.e. "[your town] real estate") on major engines like Google and Yahoo aren't producing Trulia as a search result. Zillow and Realtor.com, as well as smaller local agency and agent sites, area faring much better. There is some discussion as to the possibility that the search engines are "penalizing Trulia because they don't like the internal structure of the site, but this sudden change in internet real estate hierarchy begs the question:  which internet real estate sites really provide the best resources to the customers?

I would argue that some of the more comprehensive local sites do the best job. Internet giants like Zillow might look slick and offer information on a wider range of locations, but the really well-done individual Realtor websites (ex: www.tedsoldit.com in Jupiter, Florida) will have more accurate information from professionals who take pride in their area of expertise. Wouldn't you agree?
