With the rapid growth of internet real estate sites has come various changes in focus and marketing techniques. Joel Burslem (author of the Future of Real Estate Marketing blog) makes note of the most recent trend, stating that "we've gone from the refrain being listings, listings, listings -- to the more familiar location, location, location." Burslem is referring to the recent movement from sites dedicated to showcasing the most possible individual homes for sale to sites that include comprehensive overviews of neighborhoods, towns, and surrounding areas. This shift in focus on real estate sites makes sense. What good is the most beautiful house you've ever seen if it turns out to be in the middle of a community not particularly suited to your style? Conversely, a home that you might not have fallen in love with based on the home's features alone might suddenly gain appeal if it is in a town that meets your needs. One of the ways innovative Realtors are using to give their potential client base a feel for certain neighborhoods and towns is through video blogging. For example, a buyer interested in (but not familiar with) Palm Beach County might not have time to personally drive through various neighborhoods in the area.... but that same buyer probably would have the time to "tour" the neighborhoods via Realtor Ted Guarnero's virtual video blog.
