Michael Jordan, former NBA superstar, is looking to buy a mansion in golf legend, Jack Nicklaus’, Bear’s Club, a golfing mecca in Jupiter. The word on the street says that he’s just about to close the deal and purchase a multi-million dollar home on one of Golden Bear’s premiere golf courses.
“No comment” remains the only statement released by club officials, and the residents aren’t quick to remark, either. The County takes several weeks to publicize official records so it will likely be a while before anybody knows for sure.
In the meantime, forty-five year old Jordan has been seen around town this past month, including several visits to The Bear’s Club. It is no secret the NBA All-Star and Olympic Gold Medalist is looking for a private golf course to live on, and it’s just a short flight to Charlotte- home of the Bobcats- a team Jordan is part owner of.
It’s also a stone’s throw from the Bahamas, one of the six-time World Champion’s frequent vacation spots. His Airness is a well-known gambler and the casinos throughout the Caribbean, and in neighboring cities, coupled with the high rollers teeing off in The Bear Club’s backyard make this area an ideal home base for this sports megastar. Jordan has the keen ability to find golfing buddies that are as eager as he is to gamble big-ticket items like cars and high stakes cash.
And he’s not the only renowned athlete in town. Ernie Els, winner of the recent Honda Classic- down the street in Palm Beach Gardens- and former world number one golfer, just signed an $8million contract to purchase a mansion in The Bear’s Club. There is also talk of Tiger Woods coming to town.
These acclaimed athletes must be attracted to the bounty of golf courses, the private luxuries of their surrounding communities and hot spots like South Beach and the Caribbean islands just a hop, skip and a jump away.
