Such a Thing as TOO Optimistic in Jupiter Florida?

Perusing through Jupiter Florida's magazine stories, newspaper pieces, and blog posts over the last 6 months or so has caused me to notice a growing trend when it comes to articles related to the real estate market. No matter what the market is doing, the National Association of Realtors and the Florida Association of Realtors puts a positive spin on things. They put out cheerful ads on TV telling you this is a great time to buy, or they release reports saying the market is on it's way to recovery, and that everything is fine! The problem is that the consumer is hearing from the regular media that we are in a housing crisis that is not going away, and meanwhile seeing their friends and neighbors going into foreclosure or experiencing major losses in equity.

This disparity in what the NAR says and what the consumer is seeing happen to their own wallet is causing a general distrust in the members of the real estate profession. Don't get me wrong, I'm not accusing the NAR of disseminating misinformation. I'm simply saying that while they are doing their part to re-instill confidence in the market by focusing on the positive, the general public is getting tired of the relentless optimism.

As a buyer or a seller, make sure you find a Realtor who is not afraid to give you both sides of the story. Ted Guarnero of The Ted Team will give you the truth about the market, whatever that might be. It is your Realtor's job to help you find solutions in the face of real estate difficulties, not ignore the fact that such difficulties may exist.
