The club gets it's name from the population of Ibis that call the preserve lands home along with the indigenous Blue Heron, Sandhill Cranes, and other birds, deer, alligators and native wildlife.

The three golf courses bearing the notable Nicklaus name are the pride of the club. These courses include "The Heritage" by Jack Nicklaus II, "The Tradition" by Steve Nicklaus, and last but certainly not least "The Legend" by world champion golfer Jack Nicklaus. The courses are overseen by experienced pros of the PGA and LPGA. The club also maintains a 20 acre practice facility, as well as the Ibis Golf Academy, directed by one of the golf industry's leading instructors.

Aside from the golf courses, Ibis Golf and Country Club sustains a culture of luxury and class through its additional amenities. The Tennis and Fitness Center features a swimming pool perfect for lap swims, a children's play pool, and 14 tennis courts supplemented by a variety of tennis instructional programs for players of all skill levels.
